108 (MRITUNJOY) EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICE

MoU with EMRI (Emergency Management & Research Institute), Hyderabad signed and function started from October 2008 to provide 24X7 emergency response services across the state under Public Private Partnership model.
Toll free number 108 is used as a centralized helpline for Medical, Police, Fire or any kind of emergencies.
Already start functioning in all districts of Assam.
In the ambulance along with the driver an emergency technician is available to provide pre-hospital care while transporting the patient to the hospital.
 
Total 280 nos of Ambulances deployed for referral transport including obstetric emergencies.

2 new Boat Ambulances already operational at Majuli and Sadiya. Another 4 will be made operational in 2011-12
